Penraker highlights a couple of very outspoken individuals who were rather pessemistic about the Iraqi elections. These folks haven't been heard from since. I'd say it's pretty hard to comment when 8 million people just gave you the finger.

Nice way to put it. And it has two meanings they are giving them the finger, as normally understood, as well as giving them the "purple finger"
Yeah, those purple fingers are going to be one of the great symbols of this long struggle against tyranny/terrorism. Nice find on those articles. It's a rare moment when the "loyal opposition" is stunned into silence. These elections went far better than I could have imagined.
