![]() September 02, 2005Yahoo for FridayPosting will probably be slim to none this weekend. The office is closing early today and that means we get a few more hours in the bar than a normal Friday. I'm posting my HAPPY hour intentions with the hopes that someone with a severe case of self-righteous indignation will curse me out for not doing anything while New Orleans drowns. You know, kinda like they keep doing to all the political opponents they don't like. Christ. What in the hell is wrong with people anyway? I live in California and Fidel Castro is closer than I am. Why the can't the Great Utopian take the high road and lend a helping hand to an inferior capitalist pig in need? Never mind, all those in Cuba that can build boats are over here. UPDATE: I agree with Ian. Great picture too... Posted by 10 fingers 6 strings at September 2, 2005 02:12 PM | TrackBackComments
Enjoy your weekend. I'm heading to San Antonio for some fun and relaxation. You kinda feel bad just enjoying yourself when so many are suffering. I have a lot of mixed emotions about this situation. Especially since Houston is bearing the brunt of the so called, refugees. In my opinion, the majority of them are idiots for not evacuating. I know, I know, they didn't have the means, they had no where to go. Well, being alive "no where" is a heluva lot better than being dead in a bowl of Katrina jambalaya I would think. Had a big dispute with a neighbor who is black and very anti Bush. They want to pin all this on Bush. I mean, hell, they were in the senate today making speeches on the floor about how poorly his administration is handling this, how slow the response has been, how despicaable he is...How dare they turn this into politics at a time like this. It really pisses me off to no end. These people think that because the Bush administration did not fund a request for 30 million dollars to shore up the levies they would not have this mess. It's poppycock and everyone knows it. They would not have had enough time to do it, and 30 million dollars was not near enough money. The real issue is, if you know you live in a place where all experts agree a hurricane would devastate it, why not get the hell out. Why even live there. Anyway, I'm on a soapbox and my language has deteriorated just like that New Orleans mayor who's cussing Bush for just flying over and not doing anything. Yes, Bush controls everything. I got served cold french fries at Wendy's today. Damn you George Bush. Just read the post below this one and substitute every mention of Iraq with Katrina and New Orleans. Same damn thing. Well, let them have their hatred. The rest of us are going to put on our "big boy pants" and try to solve some issues. Do yourself a favor this weekend. Have a blast. I was in San Antonio for a wedding last December and had a great time. Where are you staying? Posted by: TF6S at September 3, 2005 01:42 AMThat's a photo of the "weeping angel" tomb monument, from the Metairie Cemetary in New Orleans. It seemed appropriate.
