Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I'm spending my first Thanksgiving in 15 years in Arizona. It is 80 degrees here, and seeing the rain and gloom back east, I put my official stamp on parents decision to move here.

For those of you who are still back east:

HA-HA!

Are any of you cooking today? I offered to give my mom a break on Thanksgiving and came up with what I like to call "the Bachelor's Thanksgiving." Here is the menu:

  • Frosted Flakes
  • Cheeze-its
  • Mashed-Potatoes
  • Oreo Cookies
  • Beer
  • Dirty Laundry

My mom said she's not really ready for my radical meal, but that she appreciated my good intentions. I'm fine with that, as long as she can placate me with some mashed-potatoes.

Submit your stories here. I'm just wondering if Rick made it back from Africa.

Cheers to all!

Happy Thanksgiving TF6S! I did in fact survive my African experience. Though after 11 days and a 16 hour flight home I was about as energetic as John Kerry giving his "Reporting for Duty" speech. I took this week off and have been fighting the flu that I may have picked up on my trip, not sure, though I had all the requisite flu, yellow fever, anti-ebola, etc., innoculations.

I got a turkey recipe online that was from an article in the SF Chronicle from 2001 I believe. It was a recipe for brining a turkey. I had never heard of this method but they seemed pretty sure of themselves having tried some 28 different methods of preparing them. Then I had a phone call with Mr. Montgomery in Chicago and before I had said anything about it, in his typical speech he said, "dude, you've gotta brine your turkey". He had tried it last year and said it was awesome. Turns out it is pretty darn awesome and from this point forward all Hamman turkeys shall be brined. Unless I ever breakdown and buy the ginormous turkey deep fryer which everyone here in Texas loves. Fried turkeys may be a tad tastier than brined.

Though beer and oreos sounds like a very tasty thanksgiving meal as well. Well, maybe if the oreo's are fried and the beer is Schlitz. And a few Do-Ree-Tos.

My only story was that my niece scared my dog as usual and made her pee all over the hardwood floors. The dog that is.
