Casting Call

I'm looking for anyone who's been reading this site that is interested in doing any adventure/travel writing of any kind. If you would like to contribute to a future adventure writing/travel online publication that will be revealed in the near future, please send me an email at tenfingers6strings - at - gmail - dot - com. Photographers and filmakers are welcome too.

As far as want ads for adventure go, this ad isn't quite as hardcore as this one:

"MEN WANTED FOR HAZARDOUS JOURNEY. SMALL WAGES, BITTER COLD, LONG MONTHS OF COMPLETE DARKNESS, CONSTANT DANGER, SAFE RETURN DOUBTFUL. HONOR AND RECOGNITION IN CASE OF SUCCESS."

Ten points to the person who guesses who wrote this ad (without googling it).

The captain in the documentary "the Endurance"? At least, I think that's what is was called. I remember you talking about your uncle telling you to watch it (or watching it with you). We saw it, too, eventually. Incredible story.

And, does a few years' worth of bone-chilling screaming, vomiting, nasty rashes, psychological manipulation, and sleep deprivation sound like an adventure to you? You don't even have to leave your home...

Am I close? I will google the quote now...

Shakleton. And he had many, many applicants. Perhaps this was better than the Western Front.

Godspeed on the journey my friend.

FYI - Today as one traces the steps of Shackleton and leaves the port of Stanley to venture into the South Atlantic, a word can be seen aborning the hills overhead: Protector. I wonder who this is in reference to?

My guess is DAVID LEE ROTH made those coments when trying to recruit either A) bandmates or B (more likely) ROADIES..for the Van HALEN reunion tour later this year!
