SMALL WAGES, BITTER COLD, LONG MONTHS OF COMPLETE DARKNESS, CONSTANT DANGER, SAFE RETURN DOUBTFUL. HONOR AND RECOGNITION IN CASE OF SUCCESS." The captain in the documentary "the Endurance"? At least, I think that's what is was called. I remember you talking about your uncle telling you to watch it (or watching it with you). We saw it, too, eventually. Incredible story. And, does a few years' worth of bone-chilling screaming, vomiting, nasty rashes, psychological manipulation, and sleep deprivation sound like an adventure to you? You don't even have to leave your home... Am I close? I will google the quote now... Shakleton. And he had many, many applicants. Perhaps this was better than the Western Front.
